🗺️ Miura Seika "Tea Yokan"お茶羊羹
About Miura Seika "Tea Yokan"
A large amount of yokan made from the fragrant and rich-tasting Kawane tea was used.
Details
"Kawane Tea" is cultivated in the mountainous area of Kawane Town, located almost in the center of Shizuoka Prefecture. It is one of the representative varieties of Shizuoka tea, which is collectively known as one of the "Three Great Teas of Japan" along with "Uji Tea" and "Sayama Tea." Miura Seika is famous for its various flavored yokan, such as red bean and yuzu, with "Tea Yokan" being a best-selling product made with a large amount of Kawane tea powder. Its rich aroma and robust astringency make it feel like you're drinking real tea as soon as you take a bite.
The yokan is packaged in a cylindrical container shaped like a teapot, making it just the right size to hold in your hand. The design allows you to push it up from the bottom to eat without needing a plate or getting your hands dirty. There are lightweight, portable bags (containing 3 or 5 pieces), as well as boxed sets of 5, 10, 15, or 20 pieces, making them perfect as gifts.
In addition to yokan, Miura Seika also offers Nagasaki cakes, dorayaki, and various Japanese and Western-style tea snacks shaped like teapots.
