🗺️ Nara Goldfish Museum奈良 金魚ミュージアム

Born in Nara Prefecture, one of Japan's most renowned goldfish production areas, this is one of the largest goldfish museums in Japan. The museum is located within the tourist-oriented commercial complex "M! Nara," where visitors can enjoy a cutting-edge entertainment aquarium created by emerging artists. The museum underwent renovations in 2021, doubling the number of goldfish and the space available. Inside, there are several uniquely themed exhibition areas, including the world's first diamond-cut water tank, featuring a "JAPANESE AQUARIUM DISCO" with stained glass and mirror ball lighting performances, as well as "JAPONE Alley," which recreates the Edo streetscape using 21 umbrellas and vibrant light and shadow to showcase the beauty of Japan. The goldfish swimming in the tanks are raised in Yamato Koriyama City, Nara. There are approximately 3,000 goldfish on display, ranging from common varieties to rare breeds, making it very interesting to compare different types. Photography is allowed throughout the museum, including in the Trick Art Corner, where visitors can ride on goldfish or catch them in a playful setting. Some areas even have designated photo spots to help capture beautiful images suitable for sharing on social media.

You can experience a permanent museum that combines goldfish and art. It is fully supervised by aquarium professionals. The unique artistic space makes full use of projection mapping, mirrors, and more. Photography is allowed throughout the museum.
