"Yaba Fried Pork Cutlet" is famous for its fried pork cutlets seasoned with a secret miso sauce, including "Teppan Fried Pork Cutlet" and "Waraji Fried Pork Cutlet." In 2020, "Former Yaba Fried Pork Cutlet" opened near the entrance of the Osu Kannon shopping street, next to Osu Kannon (Shinbukuji Hōshōin), based on the concept of the original "Yaba Fried Pork Cutlet," which started in Showa 22 (1947). The building, filled with Showa-era charm, and the giant sign of the store's mascot, "Yaba Pig," serve as the best markers. The menu also fully recreates the offerings from the time of its opening. The signature "Kushi Katsu," served with miso and sauce, has a crispy and crunchy texture, featuring a different batter from the usual "Yaba Fried Pork Cutlet." The "Miso Oden" and "Dote Nabe," simmered in the secret miso sauce, are also extremely delicious. There is a rich selection of other à la carte dishes and drinks, with lunch sets available that include several side dishes. The walls of the restaurant are adorned with a mural of the Seven Lucky Gods riding a treasure ship and a mosaic mural of Mount Fuji resembling a money bath, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of an old and wonderful public izakaya. It is a great place to relax and dine, regardless of age, gender, or nationality.
