🗺️ Oshino Village Fish Park

Oshino Village Fish Park, which gathers the rich natural resources of Oshino Village, is a theme park centered around water sources and forests, attracting visitors of all ages throughout the year. The lush park features rivers and ponds fed by underground water from Mount Fuji, and offers well-equipped facilities such as a "water play area," long slides, and playground equipment surrounded by trees. The park also includes the "Oshino Village Forest Learning Center" (free admission), which introduces the rich natural ecology of Oshino Village from various perspectives. Visitors can experience common herbs, fruits, and nature-themed crafts and games through their senses. The center presents information about the wildlife, insects, volcanic activity of Mount Fuji, and festivals of Oshino Village in an easy-to-understand manner. From spring to autumn, it showcases flowers and plants harvested in Oshino Village, while in winter, visitors can enjoy the sound and glow of firewood burning in a stove. Located within the same park is the "Yamanashi Prefectural Fuji Yusui no Sato Aquarium" (admission fee: 420 yen for adults, 200 yen for middle and elementary school students), which is a freshwater fish aquarium. The tanks, using spring water from Mount Fuji, house around 3,000 freshwater fish, including the dream fish known as Iwashi (believed to be a type of salmon and the largest freshwater fish) and large rainbow trout. The horizontally oriented tanks resemble being submerged in a forest pond, and there are flowing tanks that recreate the habitats of river fish, allowing visitors to observe the fish's ecology through various designed displays. Additionally, special exhibitions and feeding experiences are held periodically. Oshino Village Fish Park is a place where one can fully enjoy learning and playing in nature, making it a destination where visitors can spend an entire day.
