🗺️ Ren Shan Xing Station恋山形駅

Ren'yamagata Station was built in 1994 when the Chizu Express line was opened. In 2013, four railway companies in Japan that had stations with the character "恋" (ren, meaning "love") in their names jointly launched a project called the "Ren Station Project." As a unique initiative, Chizu Express undertook a complete renovation of the station, painting the station building in a vibrant pink. Everything from the station walls, fences, waiting chairs to trash bins has been painted in a cute pink. The station name signs and platform boards are also designed in heart shapes. At one corner of Platform 1, there is a "Love Bell" and a "Heart Monument." Visitors are encouraged to purchase heart-shaped ema (wooden plaques) sold by Chizu Express, write down their wishes, and hang them on the monument. These ema will be offered at the Shiratori Shrine in Tottori City. Ren'yamagata Station has many photo-worthy spots. For example, there is the "Love Path" painted in pink outside the platform, a vending machine selling exclusive merchandise, a "Love Waiting Room" equipped with heart-shaped tables, and a pink "Love Mailbox," all of which make it hard for visitors to stop taking pictures.

There are only four train stations in Japan that have the character "恋" (koi, meaning "love") in their names, and 恋山形駅 (Koi-Yamagata Station) is one of them. The station features a pink color scheme and heart-shaped designs, making it very photogenic. Exclusive merchandise such as ema (votive tablets) and keychains are sold inside the station. Please pay attention to safety and travel etiquette, and do not enter the tracks without permission. Note that there are no restrooms within the station.
