Details
Located in the northwest of Kanagawa Prefecture, Sagami Lake is an artificial lake formed by the construction of a dam. Completed in Showa 22 (1947), the Sagami Dam created a barrier lake, making it the first dam lake built after World War II and the first artificially constructed body of water to be named a "lake." Visitors can enjoy activities such as sightseeing boat rides, canoeing, and pedal boating. Additionally, Sagami Lake is a popular spot for black bass fishing, highly favored by fishing enthusiasts. Nearby, there are amusement facilities, tourist attractions, and hot springs. It serves not only as an important water source for local residents but also as a precious place to enjoy nature within the Greater Tokyo Area.
