🍜 Seasonal Vegetables (Shiga Prefecture)

📝 Introduction

A set meal restaurant where you can taste various local delicacies, including 彥根丼 (Yasugidon).

📖 Details

A set meal restaurant located in the shopping center in front of JR Hikone Station. Here, you can taste the "Hikone Don," specially created in 2011 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Hikone City, made with Omi beef and local ingredients. Among the 10 official recipes, the recommended dish is the "Hikone Yui Don (ひことろ丼)." This rice bowl features a generous amount of Omi beef tendon and local specialty red konjac made into konjac noodles, complemented by green perilla and a soft-boiled egg. The braised beef tendon and konjac noodles, soaked in a sweet and savory sauce, paired with the creamy soft-boiled egg, create a refreshing taste enhanced by the perilla, making it irresistible. The addition of coarser red konjac adds more depth to the dish. There is also the "Omi Mixed Noodles," which includes red konjac and burdock simmered together, and the "Mitsunari Rice," designed by Ishida Mitsunari. The "Katsu Don" features a fried pork cutlet topped with mayonnaise that writes "大一大万大吉" (Great Fortune) in the shape of Mitsunari's flag. A variety of local delicacies are definitely worth trying.
