🗺️ Shinjiko Lake宍道湖夕日スポット（とるぱ）

Shinjiko Lake is Japan's premier sunset spot and has been selected as one of the "One Hundred Best Sunsets in Japan." To enjoy this enchanting sunset view, a 300-meter-long lakeside path has been developed along the eastern side of National Route 9, designated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism as a "Sunset Viewing Parking Area" (abbreviated as TORUPA). It has become a popular spot for taking photos in Shimane Prefecture. The path features terraces and tiered viewing areas where visitors can sit and admire the captivating scene as the sunset paints the lake a deep red. You can capture stunning photos of the floating Yome Island, the shore park, and the Suwa Jizo, all silhouetted against the sunset. After the sun sets, the hotels and inns lining the lakeshore light up, making the night view of Shinjiko Lake even more romantic. From April to late November, on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, the "Yome Island Torii Lantern Lighting Event" is held. After watching the sunset, you can also enjoy the dreamlike night view of Shinjiko Lake. Additionally, there is an underground passage with an elevator that connects to the parking lot on the opposite side of the road. This underground passage features displays explaining the sunset viewing spots and showcases photos of the Shinjiko Lake sunset across the four seasons.

You can enjoy the beautiful sunset that dyes Lake Shinji a deep red. The silhouettes of Kanyajima Island and Sodeshi Jizō under the sunset are must-see sights. After night falls, you can admire the enchanting night view across the lake.
