🗺️ Shiroyama Lake城山湖

In 1965, when the 城山発電所 (Shiroyama Power Station) was built, an artificial lake was constructed at the 本澤水壩 (Honzawa Dam). This lake, which prohibits recreational activities such as fishing and boating, quietly holds its waters, enveloped in a serene atmosphere. Selected as one of the "50 Best Parks in Kanagawa" and "50 Best Birdwatching Spots in Kanagawa," it is a location where visitors can fully enjoy the natural scenery, attracting many tourists for hiking and birdwatching. There is a walking trail around the lake, approximately 5 kilometers long, which takes about 90 minutes to walk. During the stroll, one can appreciate the changing scenery of the seasons, including plum blossoms in spring, fresh greenery in summer, and autumn leaves. Additionally, from the rest areas along the walking path, visitors can overlook the lake and the streets of 相模原 (Sagamihara). Those in good physical condition can challenge themselves with a 10-kilometer route that includes visits to nearby attractions such as 金刀比羅宮 (Konpira Shrine) and 川尻八幡宮 (Kawashiri Hachiman Shrine).
