Sugadaira Kogen is known for its scenery and climate that resemble Switzerland, earning it the nickname "Japan's Davos," and it is famous for its abundant high-quality powder snow. The medium and small ski resorts located at the foot of Mount Negoyama and in the Omatsu area are collectively referred to as the "Sugadaira Kogen Resort." Within the three snow areas, "PINE BEAK," "Taro," and "Davos," there are a total of 60 different types of ski trails across 11 ski resorts. The Sugadaira Kogen ski resort is equipped with snow-making machines, so from early December to late March, there is no need to worry about insufficient snow, allowing visitors to fully enjoy skiing. One of the biggest highlights is the Snow Cat ride from the top of Mount Negoyama, which offers a long 4-kilometer descent. The ski area also has certified patrol teams patrolling the slopes and a Sugadaira Kogen clinic, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. The guided tour on the Snow Cat is also highly praised. Led by local guides, the tour takes participants to view Mount Negoyama and other mountains, lasting about 25 minutes. While enjoying the spectacular scenery, participants glide down approximately 4 kilometers, providing a refreshing experience.
