The small village shrouded in evening glow (Japanese: 夕やけ小やけふれあいの里) is a popular outdoor activity destination in Hachioji, Tokyo. This facility is named after the famous children's song "Yuyake Koyake," which was written by a local author. In this village surrounded by nature, visitors can enjoy the different natural scenery of each season and participate in seasonal activities unique to the time of year. In spring, you can admire colorful blossoms; in summer, swim or barbecue by the river; in autumn, enjoy the beautiful maple leaves; and in winter, take in the stunning snow views. Various enjoyable activities for both adults and children are held throughout each season, such as rice planting, firefly watching, and sweet potato roasting festivals. The facility also includes a restaurant, a hot spring inn for day trips, and camping sites. Additionally, there is a facility named "Yuyake Koyake Hall" (Japanese: 夕やけ小やけ館), which showcases materials related to the author of the children's song "Yuyake Koyake," Nakayama Uko, and features photography works by local photographer Maeda Shinzo.
