About Suntory Hall
Enjoy the immersive sound experience of the "Music Hall."
Details
Opened in 1986, this concert hall specializes in hosting music concerts. Designed with the goal of creating "the most beautiful sound in the world," it frequently holds regular performances by the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, international symphony orchestra concerts, and special performances planned by the hall itself. Countless renowned concerts have taken place here, earning it the affectionate title of "Temple of Music" among classical music enthusiasts worldwide.
The hall consists of a large auditorium with 2,006 seats and the Blue Rose (小表演廳) with 384 to 432 seats. The large auditorium is particularly famous for its beautiful acoustics. It features Japan's first Vineyard-style seating arrangement, where seats surround the stage, providing a strong sense of presence. Both acoustically and visually, performers and audiences can share a unified musical experience.
Every year, the concert hall hosts a free "Open House" event with concerts, and there is a monthly free organ concert called "ORGAN PROMENADE CONCERT" (except in April and August), along with many other easily accessible activities.
