🍜 Tea House Old Tea Pavilion

📝 Introduction

In the architecture where Japanese and Western styles blend, one is immersed in a rich exotic atmosphere filled with fashion and the aroma of aged coffee.

📖 Details

This seafood shop and residence from the late Meiji period has been designated as a traditional building. After repairs and maintenance, it was transformed into "Chabo Kyu Chaya-tei," recreating the Taisho romantic salon where foreigners once sought tranquility. During the Aomori and Hakodate Expo, the then-owner opened a limited-time tea house under the name "Kyu Chaya-tei," which later resumed operations in 1992, preserving its name. The interior exudes a unique retro decor and fashionable atmosphere that reflects its century-old history. Almost all the furniture features different designs, adding a rich exotic flair. The tableware and other items have also been carefully selected to match the style of the shop. At its opening, the menu primarily offered Japanese tea and traditional sweets, and later expanded to include desserts like anmitsu and red bean soup. Today, it also features a variety of popular items, including milk soft serve ice cream. Additionally, the shop serves a three-year aged coffee that is only served if it meets their satisfaction standards. The aging aroma and rich flavor of this coffee are truly exceptional.
