About Toshima Ward Mejiro Garden
A Japanese garden centered around a pond, beautiful in every season.
Details
Located in a quiet residential area of the Mejiro district, this traditional pond-style Japanese garden is designed around a central pond. The garden features a Sukiya-zukuri style building called "Akatori-an" and a hexagonal structure known as "Ukimi-dō." In autumn, the vibrant maple leaves frame these ancient buildings, creating a captivating autumn landscape. The maple viewing season occurs from late November to early December each year. After the lights are turned on, the reflections of the maple leaves on the pond create a dreamlike and beautiful scene.
