Tottori Sand Dunes is one of the largest sand dunes in Japan, located on the Sea of Japan side in Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture. It is a representative tourist attraction of Tottori Prefecture and has been designated as a special protection area and a national natural monument. The dunes stretch 16 kilometers from east to west and are 2.4 kilometers wide from north to south, covering a vast area. There is no admission fee for Tottori Sand Dunes, but if you want to use transportation within the area or participate in activities, there are fees involved. It is especially recommended to take commemorative photos with camels or experience camel riding. Additionally, you can challenge yourself with outdoor activities such as paragliding and sandboarding, as well as taste eggs cooked using the heat from the sand dunes or try the local specialty "Ramen Chives" (also known as "Fuki Soba"), which is cultivated in the fine sand.
