The Toyota Museum is a museum that introduces the history of global automobiles and automotive culture. Established in 1989, it is one of the commemorative projects for the 50th anniversary of Toyota Motor Corporation.
In the "Automobile Gallery," approximately 140 representative vehicles from Japan, the United States, and Europe are displayed, showcasing the history of automobiles from the late 19th century when gasoline cars were born to the present day. Notably, almost all vehicles are exhibited in a drivable condition. The museum offers free guided tours twice a day in the Automobile Gallery and once in the Cultural Gallery, allowing participants to gain a deeper understanding of the characteristics of various car models.
In the "Cultural Gallery," the "Automotive Culture Resource Room" displays around 4,000 items related to automotive culture, including posters, toy cars, and automotive mascots. Particularly noteworthy is the exhibition of about 800 mini microcars, which makes visitors forget the passage of time. Additionally, there are ongoing special exhibitions that allow visitors to experience the charm of automobiles from various perspectives, receiving rave reviews each time.
The museum also features well-equipped facilities such as a library with automotive-related resources, a restaurant, and a café.
