Located at Omorihama in Hakodate City, "Takuboku Small Park" offers stunning views of the ocean and Mount Hakodate. The name "Takuboku Small Park" comes from the representative modern Japanese poet "Ishikawa Takuboku." During his time living in Hakodate after leaving his hometown, Takuboku enjoyed walking along Omorihama and wrote poems about the sandy beaches and Hamana pears. Inside the park, there is a bronze statue of Takuboku donated by a sculptor in 1958 (Showa 33) and an inscription stone. Experiencing the literary world of Ishikawa Takuboku, a poet who sensitively expressed the sorrows of life, amidst the breathtaking seaside scenery is quite a romantic experience. The park is adjacent to the "Hijikata & Takuboku Romance Museum," where you can see valuable materials related to Takuboku, making it worth a visit.
