📜 Content

Yufuin Onsen (湯布院溫泉) is a hot spring town located at the foot of Mount Yufu in the central region of Oita Prefecture. The town does not have large hotels; instead, it features many elegant and stylish small inns, which are particularly popular among women. The hot spring water is abundant, making it the second richest in Japan. Due to the numerous sources, the ryokans are spread out and not crowded. The water quality is primarily alkaline simple spring water, which has a gentle texture and is said to be effective for relieving nerve pain, promoting blood circulation, and recovering from fatigue. The rich natural scenery of Mount Yufu is also a major attraction that contributes to the popularity of Yufuin Onsen. The majestic view of Mount Yufu can be seen from every corner of the town, making it a symbol of Yufuin Onsen. Located at the foot of Mount Yufu, "Kinrin Lake" is a relatively rare lake where clear water continuously springs from the lakebed, mixing with the hot springs, resulting in high water temperatures throughout the year. Therefore, during the cooler autumn and winter seasons, mist rises from the lake's surface, creating a dreamy scene. It is said that the name Kinrin Lake comes from the sight of fish scales in the lake shimmering with golden light under the sunset. Near Kinrin Lake is "Yunotsubo Street," an approximately 800-meter-long tourist street lined with many unique shops, including cafes, restaurants, and local specialty stores, where visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll.
