📖 Details

Yunokami Onsen is a tranquil and beautiful environment, adjacent to the thatched-roof station "Yunokami Onsen" of the Aizu Railway. The hot spring town is located in the Okawa Valley, with ryokans built along the serene riverbanks, making it a popular destination for hot spring therapy since ancient times. There are many local stories about the discovery of the hot springs, one legend tells that villagers found the spring after seeing an injured monkey soaking in it to heal, and named it "Saru-yu" (猿湯, Monkey Bath). The hot spring town is situated along the Agagawa River Valley and is famous for its numerous open-air baths that offer views of the river scenery. Not only does it boast rich natural landscapes, but there are also many comfortable and reasonably priced ryokans. The water quality of Yunokami Onsen is a weakly alkaline simple hot spring, colorless, odorless, and tasteless. It is said to be effective for relieving fatigue, promoting health, and improving skin condition. The hot spring town has a total of eight sources, including "Saru-yu," "Kaminoyu," "Shinyu," and "Kan-no-yu," with a plentiful supply of spring water.
