📝 Introduction
A must-visit spot for tableware enthusiasts, the birthplace of the globally renowned tableware brand "Noritake."
📖 Details
Tsubaki Forest (Tsubaki no Mori) is the birthplace of the highly acclaimed Western tableware brand "Noritake Tsubaki Tableware." It is now a lush recreational area featuring shops, cafes, restaurants, and a museum, making it one of Nagoya's representative attractions.
The red brick building is the original factory of the Japan Pottery Association (now Tsubaki Co., Ltd.), built in 1904. It symbolizes the beginning of Japan's Western tableware manufacturing history and is a significant architectural site.
On the 3rd and 4th floors of the Craft Center, the "Tsubaki Museum" showcases a variety of valuable works rich in historical and cultural significance, including "Classic Tsubaki Tableware." Visitors can also observe the process of bone china production and the artisans painting the porcelain. DIY experiences, such as free painting on all-white bone china tableware and mugs, are also very popular.
When visiting Tsubaki Forest, be sure to check out the on-site shop, where you can purchase Noritake Tsubaki tableware, kitchen items, and various exquisite porcelain and tableware goods.
