Adventure World, located in Wakayama Prefecture, opened in 1978 and is a theme park that combines a wildlife zoo, an aquarium, and an amusement park. Spanning approximately 800,000 square meters, the expansive area includes sections for the wildlife zoo, aquarium, and amusement rides. About 140 species, totaling around 1,400 animals, inhabit the zoo and aquarium, ranging from marine to terrestrial creatures. Adventure World is characterized by its diverse and enriching experience programs, including a safari tour on the Kenya train that allows visitors to explore the entire zoo area and observe wildlife in their natural habitats. There are also experiences where visitors can feed herbivores like African elephants and giraffes, making it a family-friendly theme park representative of the Wakayama region. Additionally, visitors should not miss the marine theater "Smiles," featuring dolphin and trainer performances, as well as the entertaining "Marine Animal Show" with sea lions and penguins. After enjoying the joyful and therapeutic experiences at the zoo and aquarium, there are numerous amusement rides such as a Ferris wheel, roller coasters, and go-karts, making it a perfect spot to spend an entire day having fun.

You can participate in an experience program to feed large animals living in the wildlife park. Not only can you have close encounters with animals at the zoo and aquarium, but you can also enjoy yourself in the amusement park area. The restaurants in the park offer a variety of cute, animal-themed dishes that surprise visitors both visually and in taste. By the end of June 2025, all four giant pandas from Adventure World amusement park will have returned to China.
