About Aerospace Science Museum (Narita Airport)

Japan's first aviation museum allows you to easily and enjoyably learn about aviation knowledge.

Details

The Aviation Science Museum is located next to Narita Airport and is Japan's first aviation museum. From the runway-shaped eye-catching entrance walkway, it exudes a romantic atmosphere that leads to the sky. Inside the museum, various displays including images, model scenes, and models come together to create an enjoyable environment for learning about airplanes and airports. Among the most impressive exhibits are the actual cross-section of a large jet, the Boeing 747, and its engine, which are real rather than models. The internal structure, rarely seen in everyday life, is worth a look even for those who are not aviation enthusiasts. The outdoor exhibition area showcases more than 15 actual propeller airplanes and helicopters from the 1950s to 60s. There is also an observation deck where visitors can enjoy the spectacular sight and sounds of planes taking off and landing at Narita Airport. Additionally, there are various paid facilities available, such as realistic simulators that offer an experience of flying and operating an aircraft, as well as boarding some of the outdoor display planes. After visiting, you can enjoy a lunch designed to resemble in-flight meals at the 4th-floor restaurant or browse through the shop that offers a variety of merchandise.
