🎨 Attraction Gallery
📝 Introduction
The picturesque rivers flow, receiving high praise from British travel writer Isabella Bird.
📖 Details
The beauty of the 奥阿賀溪谷 (Oka Aga Valley) is listed as one of the "One Hundred Scenic Views of Japan." In spring, the fresh green buds emerge; in summer, the deep greens overflow; in autumn, the red leaves paint the landscape; and in winter, the falling snow creates a scene reminiscent of an ink wash painting. Taking the "阿賀野川観光船" (Aganogawa Sightseeing Boat) downstream allows you to fully enjoy the beautiful scenery of the valley through the changing seasons.
Among the offerings, the "開花温泉巡禮行程" (Flowering Hot Spring Tour) lasts 40 minutes and lets you leisurely enjoy the views of the hot spring town, starting and ending at the roadside rest area "阿賀之里" (Aga no Sato). The cheerful narration and boat songs from the captain are also one of the delights of the journey.
With the introduction of the air-conditioned jet boat "伊莎貝拉・伯德號" (Isabella Bird), the boat trip has become even more comfortable. Isabella Bird was a British female travel writer who came to Japan during the Meiji era. In her book "日本奧地紀行" (Unbeaten Tracks in Japan), she described the dreamlike scenery of the Aganogawa River flowing downstream, praising its beauty as surpassing that of the Rhine River.
