Ameyoko Shopping Street is a 500-meter long shopping street that extends from JR Ueno Station to JR Okachimachi Station, featuring around 400 shops in a row. It offers a wide variety of stores, including food, candy, pharmaceuticals, clothing, miscellaneous goods, and jewelry, and hosts various promotional events throughout the year. Locally, it is affectionately called "Ameyoko." The street is filled with energetic sales pitches and bustling crowds, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere. Just wandering around here allows visitors to experience the nostalgic charm of Tokyo's downtown. Especially during the year-end and New Year period, the crowds shopping for New Year's goods at Ameyoko can make the area extremely crowded.
