About Arakawa Amusement Park

After the renovation, it's even more fun! The most suitable regional amusement park for family travelers.

Details

Opened in 1922 (Taisho 11), the park was transformed into "Arakawa Amusement Park" in 1950 (Showa 25) after the war, as a new district-operated amusement park in Arakawa Ward. With its economical entrance fees and a wide variety of attractions, it is the only district-operated amusement park in Tokyo's 23 wards and is beloved by the public. In April 2022, a large-scale renovation was completed after 30 years, with the most notable feature being the "Playground Square," which gathers large play equipment. The park's landmark, the Ferris wheel, offers views of Mount Fuji on clear days and has a larger diameter, now featuring nighttime lighting during the newly opened evening hours. Other attractions include the "slowest in Japan" family-friendly cloud roller coaster, an aerial bicycle with electric assistance, and a carousel, with nearly all rides being completely renewed. Facilities such as the "Animal Square," where visitors can interact with small animals or ride mini horses, the "Lawn Square," perfect for leisurely enjoying a picnic, and the "Fureai House," which features a railway model running through three-dimensional models with N-scale trains, are also well-equipped. The park is not only suitable for families but is also a place where visitors of all ages can enjoy themselves.

Highlights

Located in Arakawa Ward, it is the only district-operated amusement park among the 23 wards of Tokyo. It features a variety of facilities, including playground equipment, grassy areas, and an animal plaza. It reopened in 2022 after a complete renovation.
