About Asa虫温泉 (Asa虫 Onsen)
One of the top hot spring resorts in the Tohoku region, where you can enjoy hot springs and marine activities.
Details
The hot spring area by the coast of the Shimokita Peninsula has a history of over 1200 years. It is conveniently located about 30 minutes by car or train from Aomori Station, and you can see the charming hot spring street as soon as you get off at the nearest "Asamushi Onsen Station." On the east side of the station, there is a retro hot spring street, while the west side features a beachfront resort area, allowing visitors to enjoy both hot springs and water activities, which is a major attraction.
The hot spring street on the east side is lined with traditional ryokans and dining establishments, making it a pleasure to stroll leisurely through the picturesque streets. In front of the station and at the "Asamushi Gensen Park," there are free foot baths available. The coastal area on the west side offers a variety of water activities such as SUP, banana boats, and kayaking. There are several hot spring accommodations along the coast, with those that allow guests to enjoy the sunset over Mutsu Bay from their rooms or outdoor baths being particularly popular.
The unique feature of Asamushi Onsen's spring water is that it is colorless, transparent, and has no taste or odor, with a gentle and skin-friendly texture. It effectively relieves neuralgia, rheumatism, and lower back pain, and the moisturizing effect of the hot spring can also beautify the skin.
