Daisen Park, adjacent to the World Cultural Heritage site of the Emperor Nintoku's tomb (Daisen Kofun), is an urban park in Sakai City. The park, covering an area of 380,000 hectares, is adorned with lush greenery and seasonal flowers, and is dotted with various ancient tombs, including the Shōtaku Kofun and the Magotai Kofun. The expansive park features the "Peace Tower," which stands prominently at the entrance on the north side along Ginkgo Avenue, and the "Roi Pond," which was renovated from a reservoir dating back to the Edo period. There are also spacious lawns and the "Children's Forest," where kids can play and connect with nature. Additionally, the "Sakai City Museum" provides an easy-to-understand introduction to the history and culture of Sakai City, while the "Japanese Garden" is composed of three major scenic areas (the Momoyama Plateau to the south, the Ishizu River flowing from south to north, and the lowlands to the north). Other cultural facilities include the "Central Library" and the "Mozu Kofun Group Visitor Center." Daisen Park is also a well-known cherry blossom viewing spot. From March to April each year, about a thousand cherry trees bloom, creating a dreamlike landscape that represents Osaka's cherry blossom scenery.
