🍜 Demachi Rororo

📝 Introduction

You can taste a variety of dishes in small portions, and Kyoto-style small plate lunches are very popular.

📖 Details

Demachi Rororo (出町ろろろ) is a small Japanese restaurant located in the Shimogamo Shrine area, utilizing a row of old houses. The side dishes, which heavily feature pesticide-free vegetables grown in Ohara, Kyoto, are very popular. For lunch, there are two options: the "Rororo Bento Box" and the "Mini Kaiseki," which must be reserved one day in advance, with a total limit of 30 sets. The "Rororo Bento Box," composed of two layers, has a first layer filled with eight home-style dishes of the day. The second layer includes two main dishes and freshly cooked donabe rice. The fragrant donabe rice can be refilled freely. The menu changes every two weeks, allowing guests to enjoy seasonal delicacies. The two-layer bento box also comes with a side dish and a dessert. For dinner, available only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, there is a three-course kaiseki meal. Guests can choose from several dishes they prefer. The charm of this restaurant lies in the ability to enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine at a reasonable price, tailored to one's appetite and mood for the day.
