🗺️ Forest of Mist

📝 Introduction

A roadside rest area that offers everything for play, dining, and accommodation, capturing the charm of "Shikoku's Tea Town."

📖 Details

Near the Takamatsu and Shingu Interchange, there is a complex facility where you can experience the charm of the famous tea-producing area of Shikoku—the Shingu region—in various ways. Stepping into "Kiri no Mori" (Mist Forest), a dazzling world of emerald green unfolds before your eyes. The clear stream of the Marutagawa River surrounds the area, making it a popular spot for families to enjoy water activities in the river during the summer. If you get hungry, you can savor the signature dish "Kiri no Mori Tea Soba" at the "Kiri no Mori Restaurant," tasting the ingredients blessed by the mountains. In the café within the facility, "Chafe Yururi," you can enjoy Shingu tea grown without the use of pesticides, which is full of natural aromas, along with various desserts made from Shingu tea leaves. The "Lava Cake," which melts with Shingu matcha chocolate, and luxurious sundae ice cream are all carefully crafted in the attached confectionery workshop, with each dish being a masterpiece of flavor. The "Kiri no Mori Daifuku" served in the café is a highly sought-after souvenir. With its fragrant matcha, red bean paste, and fresh cream, it offers a rich texture that attracts many travelers who come from afar just for the daifuku. Additionally, there are many exciting attractions such as the "Street Tea Shop," where you can learn about Shingu tea tasting and brewing methods, the day-use hot spring "Kiri no Mori Kōyūkan" with an outdoor bath, and the "Kiri no Mori Cottages," which consist of seven small wooden cabins, making it impossible to list all the wonderful spots available.
