📝 Introduction
The shrine known for its connections is one of the top energy spots in Asakusa.
📖 Details
It is said that the deities of the Kamigami Shrine, "Izanagi no Mikoto" and "Izanami no Mikoto," are Japan's first couple, capable of blessing good relationships. This ancient shrine has a long history and has been known as a place for people to seek good matches since it began holding the "Ketsuen Taikai" (Marriage Connection Festival) regularly in 2008. Regardless of whether it is a weekday or holiday, many people come to pray for good relationships.
Inside the shrine grounds, there are many lucky cats that warmly welcome visitors. Among them, the couple lucky cats next to the main hall attract the most attention. It is said that stroking these lucky cats brings good fortune, and if you take a photo of them and set it as your phone's wallpaper, your wishes will come true.
The round, hornless ema (votive tablets) are also highly praised. Designed with a shape that reflects the characteristics of the matchmaking shrine, they play on the homophony of "en" (relationship) and "maru" (circle). There are two types of ema: one for making wishes and another called "Seichu Ema" for when wishes are fulfilled. Additionally, the "Ren-shou Sen" (Love Winning Fortune Slip), which details suitable partner information such as age and zodiac sign, is also well-received for its high accuracy. Items such as the lucky cat-themed goshuincho (stamp books) and omamori (amulets) are also very popular.
