⛩️ Mitsumine Jinja Shrine (三峯神社)

Sanbō Shrine (三峯神社, Mitsumine Jinja) is said to have been established by Yamato Takeru for the sake of praying for national peace. Inside the shrine, there is a giant bronze statue of Yamato Takeru. Legend has it that wolves, serving as guardian deities, protected the local people from various disasters, which is why there are many wolf sculptures throughout the shrine, as well as ema (絵馬), or votive tablets, featuring wolves. The wolf-themed talismans (お守り) are also quite rare and have gained popularity. Behind the main hall, there is a "bonding sacred tree" (結緣神木) that grows alongside cedars and cypress trees, attracting many visitors who come to pray for good relationships. Additionally, at the entrance of the shrine, there is a uniquely shaped "San Torii" (三鳥居) gate, along with the ancient "Chūjū Cedar" (忠重杉), which is over 800 years old, among other wonderful sights. Moreover, on clear days, one can see a sea of clouds from the Okumiya (奥宮) to the main hall, which is quite noteworthy. It is worth mentioning that the sea of clouds is most frequently seen in November, so this is the recommended time to visit the shrine for worship.

It is said that the 三峰神社 (Mitsumine Shrine) was established by 日本武尊 (Yamato Takeru) to pray for peace. The 絵馬 (ema) and 御朱印 (goshuin) of the shrine feature illustrations of wolves, which are very unique and popular. At the 遥拝殿 (Rōhaiden), one can sometimes see a sea of clouds. The likelihood of seeing a sea of clouds is highest in November.
