Itoshima, located about a 30-minute drive from Fukuoka Airport or Hakata Station, is a popular vacation area favored by the citizens of Fukuoka. A classic activity in Itoshima is cruising along the coastal road, known for its famous surfing spots, where you can find many trendy dining establishments and shops. For beginners in Itoshima, I first recommend a scenic drive along Prefectural Road 54. After passing the "Fukuoka City Sea Fishing Park," you will first see the huge sign of the restaurant "ZAUO Itoshima Main Store," known for its seafood cuisine. The beach in front of this restaurant features a coconut tree swing, making it a very popular photo spot. Next, head to "Meoto Iwa" (Couple's Rocks). Located within the grounds of Sakurai Shrine, "Sakurai Futamigaura" is a rare sacred site with a torii gate in the sea. Opposite the torii gate, you can see the "Meoto Iwa" connected by a large shimenawa (sacred rope). Futamigaura is famous for its beautiful sunset views, and during the summer solstice, you can enjoy the sunset falling between the Couple's Rocks. Additionally, there are many stylish cafes and restaurants in the surrounding area. At the same time, Itoshima is also well-known for its mountain delicacies and seafood. Along the scenic drive, you can see many signs for direct sales outlets, so be sure to stop by and pick out various local products from Itoshima.

It is recommended to visit the sacred site "Meoto Iwa" (夫婦岩) for worship. The sunset view is exceptionally beautiful.
