Shinjuku Temple is renowned as a place for dispelling misfortune and forging good relationships. It boasts an ancient history, second only to Tokyo's Senso-ji Temple. Inside the Shaka Hall, there is a national treasure, the statue of Buddha Shakyamuni. The lush temple grounds are blessed with an abundant spring, which has fostered the development of soba noodle production, making "Shinjuku Soba" a local delicacy. Today, there are over 20 soba shops surrounding the temple. Throughout the year, the temple hosts a variety of events. In addition to New Year's visits and the Setsubun bean-throwing ritual, there is the "Dharma Market" from March 3rd to 4th, the "Hōzuki Festival" in late July, and the "Soba Festival" in autumn. During these events, the temple is always bustling with crowds, creating a lively atmosphere.
