Jizoin Temple in Saitama Prefecture boasts a precious cultural heritage and rich natural scenery. This historic temple was built during Japan's Heian period (794-1185 AD). During the Edo period (1603-1868 AD), Jizoin was a massive temple complex covering approximately 99,174 square meters and had 17 branch temples. Here, visitors can worship the Jizō Bodhisattva, known for blessing good relationships, and also see the statue of Fudō Myōō, carved about 800 years ago, as well as a red camphor tree that is around 600 years old with a trunk circumference of 6 meters, which is also a well-known energy spot. Jizoin holds a special temple fair on the 28th of each month. Additionally, Jizoin is famous as the family temple of the Kotani Sanji family. Kotani Sanji was a renowned thinker during the Edo period who advocated for gender equality and assisted women in their first ascent of Mount Fuji.
