About Kamaasita Store
Located in Kappabashi, a specialty store for cooking tools, you can encounter high-quality tools that can be used for a lifetime.
Details
Founded in 1908 (Meiji 41), this specialty store for cooking tools adheres to the philosophy that "good tools must have their good reasoning (persistence)." It carefully selects "good reasoning tools" passed down by artisans from all over the country. With the motto of enriching Japanese culinary culture through meticulously chosen tools, it opened its first overseas branch in Paris, France, in the spring of 2018.
The store offers not only convenient and useful cooking tools such as cast iron frying pans, sharp kitchen knives, handmade hangiri (rice washing tubs), and durable Nanbu ironware, but also exquisite items that professional chefs can use for many years. Truly good cooking tools not only make food delicious but also possess the resilience to withstand the tests of the kitchen.
Among the offerings, kitchen knives are particularly popular. The store features distinctive knives sourced from various regions, including those from Sakai City in Osaka, famous for Japanese kitchen knives, Seki City in Gifu Prefecture, known for its high production of Japanese blades, and Niigata Prefecture, renowned for stainless steel products. Customers can actually hold the knives in their hands at the store, feel the differences, and select the one that best suits them—a knife that can accompany them for a lifetime.
