The Kamikochi Dining Hall is located on the second floor of the "Kamikochi Visitor Center," directly across from the Kamikochi Bus Terminal. During the climbing season, tourists and hikers continuously flow in and out. At this restaurant, you can enjoy dishes made with local Shinshu ingredients while taking in the magnificent views of the Hotaka mountain range. The Kamikochi Dining Hall opens at 6 AM, making it convenient for travelers setting off for hikes in the early morning. For breakfast, there are various options available, including set meals (both Japanese and Western), as well as rice bowls, soba noodles, and pork cutlet curry. Desserts are also offered, which can be enjoyed during a leisurely stroll or after a hike, depending on your mood. Additionally, the restaurant features a souvenir shop that offers a wide range of Kamikochi-exclusive products. A special recommendation is the unique wagashi "Kappa-yaki," sold in the first-floor shop. This kappa-shaped taiyaki-style sweet is made fresh daily in the store. It comes in three flavors: red bean, custard, and cream cheese with red bean, priced at 200 yen each, making it a perfect snack for a walk.
