About Kasai Rinkai Park (葛西臨海公園)
A vast park overlooking Tokyo Bay! A spot where adults and children can play all day.
Details
Kasai Rinkai Park is a Tokyo metropolitan park facing Tokyo Bay, a popular destination accessible in about 15 minutes from Tokyo Station. Covering approximately 80 hectares, the expansive park is divided into five areas, featuring an aquarium themed around "green space, water resources, and interaction with people," as well as a bird sanctuary, a grassy plaza, a sea breeze plaza, and a scenic plaza.
The "Bird Sanctuary" occupies about one-third of the park's total area. Inside, there are two ponds, observation houses, and observation windows, where visitors can observe a variety of migratory waterfowl and wild birds throughout the seasons. Additionally, bird-watching programs are held, allowing beginners to experience the joy of birdwatching.
The viewing structure "Crystal View," which opened in 1995, was designed by Yoshio Taniguchi and is a beautiful building made entirely of glass, becoming a symbolic presence in the park.
There is also a 117-meter tall giant Ferris wheel, known as Japan's largest, located on the hill in the scenic plaza, offering panoramic views of Tokyo Bay from "Crystal View." There are also two barbecue areas and stylish cafes and restaurants, making it a great destination for couples and families to enjoy.
