About Kawaguchi Bay
The number one breathtaking spot in Ishigaki Island.
Details
Kabira Bay is a scenic spot located on the northwest side of Ishigaki Island and is also listed as one of Japan's "One Hundred Scenic Views." With its pure white sandy beaches and the "Kabira Blue" sea, it is the top scenic attraction on Ishigaki Island and is known for its black pearl farming. The most eye-catching feature is undoubtedly the beautiful sea surface alongside the lush, green islands. The contrast between the pristine white sand and the crystal-clear ocean creates a breathtaking view. The changing hues of the sea depending on the weather or time of day are also not to be missed. Kabira Bay has nine uninhabited islands that preserve untouched natural beauty.
Swimming is prohibited in the area, but visitors can enjoy the beautiful underwater scenery, including coral reefs and tropical fish, by taking a glass-bottom boat tour. There are several dining and accommodation options nearby, making it advisable to stay for an extended period to fully enjoy the area.
