Be sure to try places like "Yabaton" for miso pork cutlets, "Yamamotoya Sohonten" for miso udon, and "Nagoya Bincho" for eel rice during your first visit. Additionally, there are bars where you can pay to sample local sake from Aichi Prefecture. If you're looking to buy local specialties from Nagoya, this area has everything you need. The second area is the "Sohchun Area," which is inspired by the innovative fashion of kabuki actors and the cultural vibrancy brought by the seventh lord of the Owari domain, "Tokugawa Sohchun." This area is located near the east gate of Nagoya Castle and features many trendy restaurants and cafes that are often frequented by local residents. There are also many shops that stay open late into the evening. Among the numerous establishments, a particularly recommended local favorite is "Ankake Taro" (あんかけ太郎), known for its saucy pasta.
