📖 Details

Kokufu Hachiman Shrine was built as the guardian deity of Kokufu (the former administrative center). Therefore, the main hall of the shrine faces west, towards Kokufu. The shrine is surrounded by cedar trees and lush greenery, creating a solemn and dignified atmosphere. Additionally, the "Suigun Gate," which had stood at Okunitama Shrine until 2011, has also been relocated to Hachiman Shrine.

⭐ Highlights

A shrine built as the guardian deity of the National Government. Along the path to the shrine, there is a level crossing, which is very rare. The old Suijin Gate of Ōkuninushi Shrine has been moved to Hachiman Shrine.
