About Lake Kawaguchi

Among the five lakes of Mount Fuji, it is a wonderful spot with the longest shoreline.

Details

Lake Kawaguchi is the most popular among the "Fuji Five Lakes," known for its stunning views of Mount Fuji. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom along the lakeside, in early summer, purple lavender flowers appear, and in autumn, the leaves turn vibrant colors, showcasing different sceneries with the changing seasons. It is the only lake among the Fuji Five Lakes that has both an "island" and a "bridge." Lake Kawaguchi offers many spots to enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Fuji. The "Ushima," which has a circumference of about 700 meters, is designated as a cultural property of Fujikawaguchiko Town, attracting many visitors who go to the nearby Oishi Park to see the scenic views of Ushima with Mount Fuji in the background. Additionally, the Kawaguchi Lake Bridge, which is 500 meters long, provides excellent photo opportunities of both Mount Fuji and the panoramic view of Lake Kawaguchi. It is worth mentioning that the Kawaguchi Lake Bridge has been selected as one of the "Japan's Top 100 Roads." There are also many tourist attractions around Lake Kawaguchi. These include the famous amusement park "Fuji-Q Highland," which represents the eastern Japan region, art museums showcasing unique artistic styles, and the "Fuji Mountain Panoramic Ropeway," which offers views of Lake Kawaguchi and Mount Fuji. It is highly recommended to explore the surrounding area when visiting Lake Kawaguchi.
