Details
Masuichi Ichimura Sake Brewery is a long-established sake brewery that opened in 1755 (the 5th year of the Hōreki era) in Obuse Town, Nagano Prefecture. The brewery is operated by the Ichimura family, known for their chestnut sweets from Sanbushido. In 2000, they revived traditional wooden barrel brewing and began producing Junmai sake and Junmai Daiginjo. Their original sake, sold exclusively in-store and on their own e-commerce platform, has gained immense popularity.
The store showcases a variety of their own brands, with "SQUARE ONE" being one of the most representative sake. There is also a bar counter named "Tebai" in the store.
"Tebai" is a local dialect meaning to measure and sell for direct consumption. You can taste all brands starting from 180 yen for a cup (60ml) in a small sake cup. Simple side dishes like pickled green beans and Matsumae-zuke are also available, and the staff will recommend suitable pairings.
The best part is that if you find a brand you like, you can purchase it directly from the attached sales area.
