🗺️ Matsumoto City Alps Park松本市アルプス公園

Located in the hilly area northwest of Matsumoto City in Nagano Prefecture, this urban park is designed to take advantage of its elevation of 800 meters and varied terrain. From the west side, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the Northern Alps and Azumino, while the east side offers a view of the beautiful plains and Matsumoto City. The park features a zoo, observation deck, playgrounds, and various facilities that allow visitors to connect with nature in multiple ways. The park is divided into two areas: the "Family Area" and the "Learning, Health, and Sports Area." In the Family Area, there are several plazas and facilities for family enjoyment. The most popular attractions include the "Forest of Birds and Small Animals," which houses 300 species and 250 animals, and the "Alpine Dream Coaster," where visitors can slide down a 630-meter slope while seated on a snow tube (fee required). In the "Learning, Health, and Sports Area," there is the "Hill of Flowers," which blooms with seasonal flowers, and the "Forest Village Plaza," where visitors can experience life in the mountains.

The park, designed with its undulating terrain, offers an excellent view from the observation deck. There is a free-entry zoo and well-equipped playground facilities. The paid flying car ride, where you can slide down the slopes on a floating board, is very popular.
