The restaurant "Mikuni（ミクニ）伊豆高原," located near the entrance of the cherry blossom forest in Izu Kogen, offers carefully crafted Mediterranean cuisine using fresh local fish and seafood from Ito and Shimoda, as well as freshly picked vegetables, showcasing the rich ingredients unique to Izu. The dishes are created by the owner and chef Kiyozumi Mikuni, who also plans for several popular restaurants. The restaurant's architecture is designed by the renowned architect Kengo Kuma. The highlight of the design is the wooden structure that Kuma excels in, allowing diners to enjoy views of the lush forest and the Izu sea, along with the unique scenery of Izu Oshima, through glass curtains and the terrace. Lunch and dinner each offer three types of set menus. Among them, the popular "Harmony Set Menu of the Sea, Earth, and Sun" requires a reservation two days in advance, and dinner on weekdays is by reservation only. Additionally, a selection of wines from regions such as Provence, Burgundy, and Bordeaux is carefully chosen to pair with the meals.
