🗺️ Mikyo Shibazakura Parkみさと芝桜公園

Located in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture, this tourist attraction is famous for its moss phlox. The best time to enjoy the flowers is from mid-April to late April each year. Within its expansive 2.9-hectare area, 260,000 moss phlox plants bloom in vibrant shades of red, white, and pink, creating a stunning display. One of the most eye-catching areas is designed based on the "Sakura-colored Fairy Garment" inspired by the legend of the weaver princess (織姫). The swirling band-like patterns are definitely worth seeing. Every year, the park hosts the "Misato Shibazakura Festival" (箕郷芝桜祭) in conjunction with the blooming season. Stalls selling local agricultural products, processed goods, and food are set up, allowing flower viewers to enjoy local delicacies amidst the beautiful floral scenery, along with various other activities. The local traditional wedding ceremony "Mikawa no Sato Fox Wedding" features people with fox makeup parading in line, creating a unique sight that will become an unforgettable memory of the trip.
