This long-established restaurant, operating for over 120 years, is located on the main street of "Kurokabe Square," a famous tourist spot in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture. The interior, transformed from an old traditional house, creates a warm and homely atmosphere. It offers semi-private booths and tatami seating, allowing guests to relax while enjoying their meals. The signature dish is the renowned "Kyu-ken Zatsuai Udon" from Nagahama, featuring a rich and aromatic broth that creates a steaming, thick, and smooth sauce enveloping homemade udon noodles. The gentle broth and the thick texture of the sauce make the chewy udon noodles less likely to break, complemented by impressively large and thick shiitake mushrooms, showcasing the restaurant's attention to detail. There are various flavors available, including "Kyu-ken Zatsuai Udon" with Omi beef and egg drop udon, as well as local Shiga delicacies such as trout rice bowl made from wild Lake Biwa trout, sweetfish, and funazushi, along with set meals that include grilled mackerel sushi. From December to February, the restaurant offers sumo hot pot and wild duck hot pot in the evenings.
