About Moominvalley Park (ムーミンバレーパーク)
A park packed with wonderful attractions! Instantly step into the fairy-tale world of the Moomins.
Details
The Moomin theme park (MOOMINVALLEY PARK) in Finland is based on the beloved fairy tale character "Moomin." The park takes advantage of the rich natural surroundings of the Hanno area, allowing visitors to personally experience the dreamy world depicted in Moomin tales. This is the first amusement park outside of the original author's homeland, Finland, featuring Moomin as the main character.
The park is divided into four areas: the Entrance Area "POUKAMA," Moomin Valley "MUUMILAAKSO," the Exhibition Facility "KOKEMUS," and "YKSINÄISET VUORET," where various outdoor activities can be experienced. Additionally, there are various experience facilities, cafés, shops, and exhibition facilities scattered throughout the park. All attractions are imaginative and immersive, making it a fun place for not only die-hard Moomin fans but also for those who may not be very familiar with the fairy tales. A highlight is the towering Moomin Valley model, which exceeds 8 meters in height. This massive landscape model is located in the "KOKEMUS" area and offers surprising performances that change every 15 minutes.
Spanning approximately 70,000 square meters, the expansive park is home to many restaurants and cafés, where visitors can dine or take a break during their visit. The restaurants recreate scenes from Moomin stories, and their cute, theme-based dishes are perfect for taking photos.
The park also boasts the largest store selling Moomin merchandise in the world. Here, you can find original items that are unavailable elsewhere, adding more wonderful memories to your trip.
Additionally, the park offers a free smartphone audio guide service titled "Moomin Valley Audio Guide ~Adventuring with Moomin~," utilizing Sony's Sound AR™ technology "Locatone™," providing an immersive experience of exploring the park alongside Moomin. The exhibition facility "KOKEMUS" has also launched new content titled "Step into the World of Art and Stories with Moomin." Visitors can tour 12 designated spots within the park, immersing themselves in the worldview created by the original author Tove Jansson. This audio guide is available in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean, ensuring that international visitors can enjoy the experience without worries.
