The Fujisan Scenic Cable Car (Fujisan Panorama Cable Car) connects Lake Kawaguchi with Mount Tenjo. From the cable car, you can overlook the beautiful scenery of Lake Kawaguchi below. Mount Tenjo is said to be the setting of the famous Japanese fairy tale "KACHI KACHI Mountain," and it features facilities such as the "Rabbit Shrine" and the "Tanuki Tea House." Additionally, it is also connected to the renowned author Osamu Dazai. Dazai spent some time at the Tenka Tea House in Misaka Pass, Kawaguchi, which inspired him to write the famous essay collection "Fugaku Hyakkei." To commemorate this great writer, a literary monument has been erected in Tenjo Park. Mount Tenjo offers different beautiful sceneries throughout the four seasons, especially during the autumn foliage period when the view of the mountains covered in red maple leaves from the cable car is not to be missed. Moreover, winter has less rainfall and clearer air, making it a great spot to admire Mount Fuji. Although visitors can take the Fujisan Scenic Cable Car both ways, many choose to walk one way. Mount Tenjo has well-maintained walking paths, making it a great option for a hiking trip.
