🗺️ Mount Tanigawa

📝 Introduction

One of Japan's top 100 mountains, it takes only two and a half hours to reach the summit of Mount Tanigawa!

📖 Details

Mount Tanigawa, with an elevation of 1,977 meters, attracts countless visitors with its majestic and beautiful mountain shape. In summer, it is bustling with hikers and climbers, while in winter it transforms into a vibrant ski resort. A cable car ride takes about 15 minutes to reach the terminal station at Tenjin-toge, where you can enjoy the pleasure of walking in the air. Once you disembark, you are greeted by a 360-degree panoramic view of natural beauty and colorful alpine plants, instantly making you forget the world below, as if stepping into a "sky paradise" far from the hustle and bustle of the city. There is an observation deck that overlooks the surrounding mountains, as well as a well-maintained hiking trail that allows you to reach the summit in about two and a half hours. The massive rock wall "Ichinokurasawa" at the eastern foot of Mount Tanigawa is a must-see attraction. Walking along the "Ichinokurasawa Rock Wall Hiking Trail," you will encounter the imposing rock wall that looms closer with each step. From below, you can gaze up at the awe-inspiring rock wall standing amidst the beautiful natural scenery. From early summer to autumn, there will be an event called the "Night Sky Cruise," where you can enjoy the beautiful starry sky of Mount Tanigawa from the cable car. During the event, a special performance using "digital hanging scrolls" will take place, projecting the surrounding landscape in vibrant abstract geometric forms through a projector, changing in accordance with the Earth's rotation, presenting a scenery completely different from what is in front of you. This is a grand event held every year.

Mount Tanigawa presents different landscapes with the changing seasons. The lush greenery in spring and summer, the beautiful red leaves in autumn, and the enchanting snow scenery in winter.
