The Nakano Island Kosetsu Art Museum, which opened in March 2018, is the second exhibition facility of the "Kōeki Zaidan Hōjin Kosetsu Art Museum" (Kōbe City, Higashinada Ward). It houses art collections gathered by Ryōhei Murayama, the founder of the representative Japanese media "Asahi Shimbun." The collection spans a wide range of fields, including Buddhist art, calligraphy, modern painting, tea utensils, and weapons, featuring 19 important cultural properties and 33 significant artworks.
Although the museum is located within a skyscraper in a business district, it offers a tranquil and serene space. The interior exudes a calm atmosphere that beautifully blends modern architecture with traditional aesthetics, allowing visitors to appreciate artworks in an environment equipped with state-of-the-art air conditioning, display cases, and LED lighting, which has received high praise from the public.
